Sam & Kristen’s wedding day in Pinehurst, NC was certainly one to remember! They pulled their October wedding together in 5 WEEKS & the details all came together amazingly! They’d been dating for several years when Sam proposed on a park bench in Sanford, where they’d often met as a midpoint between Raleigh & Pinehurst. They decided to go ahead & tie the knot as soon as possible…and they are proof you can plan a great wedding in 5 weeks!! Their families joined in the planning and decorating and did a wonderful job. Kristen’s stepmother even repainted their guest bathroom so the getting ready photos would be pretty! How about that for attention to detail?! Kristen is a graphic designer and has incredible talent. She designed their wedding website, made many of the decorations (including the awesome lit up LOVE sign in the reception photos!), and did all the signage & invitations!! She’s a DIY bride of epic proportions, check out her personal website here: http://www.k10clark.com/
They say it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day! What about if it rains RIGHT in the middle of your outdoor ceremony?! If how Kristen and Sam handled the unexpected on their wedding day, I think they’ll both weather any storm that marriage brings together with laughter and ease. I wish you both the best as husband & wife!
Also – a huge shout out to my husband, Scott Milke – who was my 2nd shooter for this wedding! He did a great job!!
Kristen gave these earrings to her bridesmaids & bought them each a beautiful robe!
Kristen designed the invitations & programs…
It’s not a Pinehurst wedding without a horse drawn carriage to escort the bride to the ceremony!
The Village Arboretum’s Pergola Garden was the perfect setting for their outdoor ceremony. Colorful sunglasses were provided for each guest as a favor & in case the sun actually peeked out!
Minutes into the ceremony, rain drops began to fall. The officiant, Sam’s uncle, did his best to carry on with the sacred ceremony!
Right in the middle of the scripture reading, the bottom fell out & it began POURING! We all made a run for the shelter nearby where the reception was set up so we could finish the ceremony. Dripping wet, they picked up right where we left off with the guests standing in witness. Next, a beautiful rainbow appeared like a blessing from God over their adventure of a wedding!
Kristen’s “LOVE” signage made for a beautiful backdrop as they exchanged vows & became husband and wife!
All the wedding guests were great sports to run out of the rain…it stopped long enough for photos!
They have a thing for dinosaurs…and picked a unique cake topper! Guests signed Jenga pieces with well wishes.
The Timmel Pavillion was perfect for their outdoor reception. The lighting & decorations created great atmosphere!
A Go-Pro Camera was passed among guests to video the entire ceremony & reception! What a creative way to capture video footage from various perspectives!
Guests launched lanterns before sending off the couple with sparklers…
